The Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium species of bacteria colonizes the soft lining of the intestinal tract and heals the digestive system. By consuming probiotics, the gut’s ability to absorb and digest nutrients also increases. These products can be easily found at the grocery in the forms of yogurt, sourdough bread and sauerkraut. The third diet suggestion is to consume foods that will help ease the symptoms of gastritis and reverse the damage from medication use. Once again, probiotic-rich foods are most beneficial in this sense but in addition to that, you could also consume ginger, apple cider vinegar, oregano, turmeric, cranberry juice, beet juice and green tea. You should also consume foods high in vitamin A such as carrots, liver, greens, spinach and apricots, as this vitamin is vital for the well function of mucous membranes and tissue repair.

Besides the diet recommendations above, it is also advisable to add in high-fiber foods such as apples, oatmeal and beans, which can aid in improving digestion and reducing gastric inflammation.
